The title of this new CD by the "Quadriga Consort" ensemble refers to “Loch Lomond”, the last song in this collection of Gaelic and English songs and compositions.
The richness of Gaelic songs, dance, and instrumental music of Scotland relies on oral tradition. The baroque music was played in churches, monasteries, the royal palace, and local singing schools.
The Quadriga Consort moves within these areas and performs popular Gaelic and English songs about love and death, joy and pain; moving melodies, jigs, reels, hornpipes, and strathspeys.
