Johann Sebastian Bach’s masterpiece- legendary, an eternal subject for musicology. What would you think when the piece is performed by a string quartet, by an organ, another time by a chamber or an symphonic orchestra, once by a cembalo, then by a piano (or two!)? Don’t you get sceptic even when you’re not an original-sound-fanatic,?

And then the repute, that the piece is a mathematic ingenious theory-lesson about the writing of fugues and was only made to read and analyse, and not to play or hear! At least the opinion, the piece was not possible to be played with two hands on a piano, was disproved by a few pianists (like: Sokolow, Koroliow, Kocsics and Hans Petermandl)

As a worldwide debut, there now is a record with a fortepiano, Mozart-type. We think we have the ideal person. “Who doesn’t believe it, may convince himself in the ORF-shop” (Walter Riemer)

Walter Riemer, born in 1940, studied piano at the conservatory Vienna and electro technology at technical-university Vienna. He lives on his technical profession, but plays several concerts, usually chamber music, but also solo and accompanist. Since 1988 he organizes the chamber-music-concerts at the Schloss Niederfellabrunn near Vienna.
