From Mozarts's Music Shelf - Aus Mozarts Notenschrank

In the last weeks of the Mozart Year 2006 musicologist Ernst Hintermaier made a sensational discovery: in a small parish church in Salzburg he found the sheet music of a previously unknown piece for the piano by the young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The recording of this piece is the pivotal element of this CD which also presents other early compositions by Mozart from his sister Nannerl's music book and from the "London Sketch Book", as well as presenting the kind of music Mozart knew and played in his own youth.
This CD aims to contribute to finding out what are idiomatic features of Mozart's early works, and it also hopes to offer an insight into a sphere of Salzburg music history that has so far been more or less ignored. Piano pieces were compiled and written down in music books, and they were used for private music-making and music lessons as well as in monasteries.
