Alexander Zemlinskywas one of the greatest Viennese musicians at the beginning of the 20th century. His musical versatility as pianist, composer, conductor and teacher, above allhis authentic interpretations of works from different epochs, were highly aknowledged by his contemporaries.
Encouraged by Zemlinsky's example, the Zemlinsky Quintett Wien has, since the spring of 1996, been striving for new interpretations through regular, intensive work. Besides the standard wind quintet repertory, the ensemble especially concentrates on Austrian and French music of the 20th century. Each member has a lot of rich orchestral and chamber music experience.
