Chorus Viennensis
Men's Choir of former members of the "Vienna Boy's Choir"
The "Chorus Viennensis" was founded in 1952 by Josef Schnitt, for many years in charge of the "Vienna Boy's Choir" and director of the "Hofburg Chapel". It began as the "Choralschola of the Vienna Hofburg Chapel" and was conceived out of a desire to augment the "Vienna Boy's Choir" with a competent deep-voice ensemble. Within a short time this ensemble had turned into a top-level men's choir and to this day it is composed entirely of former members of the "Vienna Boy's Choir". To begin with, the "Chorus Viennensis" really only appeared together with the "Vienna Boy's Choir".
