To the 60th birthday of trumpet legend Lee Harper
Occasionally Lee Harper puts his ‘Little Big Band’ together. Just like at his 60th birthday. Harper arranged his own songs and compositions by Wayne Shorter. The band comprises of teachers, graduates and students of the Conservatory in Klagenfurt, the members come from Austria and Slovenia. They sampled, former performances in Slovenia and Carinthia- and played well-rehearsed in the “Urbankeller” in Salzburg. The “60th Birthday Concert” by Lee Harper and his Little Big Band became an event, to a musical festival. Lee Harper, one of the really big ones of Jazz, didn’t just prove his talent he also showed his unbroken modernity and subtlety. Record of a concert in the “Urbankeller” in Salzburg from 25.2.2005.
