Art of Brass: Strauss

Since its establishment in 1981, the ensemble Art of Brass has set itself the aim of presenting to the public varied programmes illustrating the range of expression open to music for brass.
Faithful to the Viennese timbre in its use of rotary valve trumpet and the Viennese horn, Art of Brass move freely from serious to light music. On this CD the works of Johann Strauss the Younger and his time and the further development of Viennese music up to Fritz Kreisler are presented in unassuming chamber music arrangements steeped in local tradition.
