Wilhelm Zobl was quite definitely one of the most interesting, albeit unconventional Austrian composers of the second half of the 20th century. Sadly his untimely death at the age of 41 has prevented his extensive work from getting the attention that it would by rights deserve. The CD at hand tries to put things back into the right perspective to a certain degree.
